When you move into Leta, you will find a blue binder usually in the kitchen. This is what we call the "Blue Book." It is your guide to our internal policies and procedures. Most of your questions should be able to be answered by this binder. If not, ask the Office or a Board member.
Your housing charge is due on the first business day of each month, a late charge of $20 applies if you haven't made a payment agreement in advance. We accept cheques, money orders and debit. We do not accept cash payments.
If you have a maintenance issue in your unit, you need to fill out a work order. These forms are availble in the lobby of the apartment building. No work can be done in your unit without a work order being submitted. We have a one person maintenance staff who is here eight hours a day, four days a week.
Complaints are dealt with via a complaint form system. These forms are also available in the lobby. Please read and complete the form completely and return it to the office. It will then be passed to the appropriate committee or to the Board of Directors. The Board deals with complaints each month at its confidential meeting.
Leta is located on two bus routes. You can take the Chemong bus to the Towerhill and Milroy stop and walk up Milroy to the co-op, or you can take the Highland route to Portage Place Mall and come through the path in the fence located behind the mall.
There are five General Members' Meetings a year at Leta including the Annual General Meeting which is split into two parts so the meeting isn't so long. They all take place on the last Wednesday of the month at 6:30 pm in the Commons Room. All members are expected to attend all of these meeting unless prevented by illness or work. Regrets can be given to the office in advance.
